Description
Root Canal Filling and Sealing Material
BioSeal F is a root canal filling and sealing material used after the removal of infected pulp tissue to achieve permanent obturation and hermetic sealing of the root canal. It is a premixed, white, flowable paste supplied in a syringe that hardens in the presence of residual moisture within the root canal and dentinal tubules. BioSeal Cera can be used with or without a gutta-percha (G.P) cone for permanent sealing of the root canal. It has excellent radiopacity and biocompatibility.
Intended Use
BioSeal F is used for the permanent sealing and obturation of root canals and dentinal tubules.
Instructions for Use
A. Preparation Before Use
- Before use, check the product’s expiration date and confirm that there are no foreign substances, impurities, discoloration, or other abnormalities.
- The operator must fully understand the manufacturer’s instructions before using the product.
B. Directions for Use
- Prepare the root canal by performing standard root canal treatment procedures such as shaping, enlarging, and cleaning.
- Clean the remaining root canal and accessory canals (isthmuses) using EDTA cream or an equivalent agent and dry the canal with paper points.
- Measure the working length of the canal using an apex locator or files, then select and verify the appropriate size of G.P cone (gutta-percha).
- Attach a disposable (plastic or metal) tip to the BioSeal F syringe and insert it into the canal.
- Slowly press the plunger to dispense the paste while gradually withdrawing the syringe from the canal. Avoid air entrapment or overfilling.
- If using a G.P cone, insert it into the canal at this stage.
- Cut off the excess G.P cone with a dental instrument and condense the remaining material. Remove any excess paste using an alcohol-soaked cotton pellet or a water-moistened cotton pellet.
- After use, remove the disposable tip and replace it with a new one.
- When removing the filling material, it can be taken out easily using the same method as for G.P cone removal.
C. Storage and Handling
- After use, remove the disposable tip, close the syringe with its cap, place it in the pouch, and store it sealed in a dry place away from direct sunlight, in a horizontal position.
- To prevent premature hardening, avoid exposing the product to water or high humidity for an extended period.
D. Precautions
- For dental professionals only. Follow all instructions and precautions carefully.
- Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
- Prevent extrusion of the material beyond the apical foramen. Excessive filling that extends beyond the root apex may cause severe pain, delayed healing, or paraesthesia depending on the amount extruded and surrounding anatomy.
- Do not reuse disposable tips to avoid cross-contamination.
- Do not use on primary (deciduous) teeth.
